Terms of Service
Last Updated: June 13, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Nuit ("Nuit", "we", "us", or "our").
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Nuit Discord bot, website, documentation, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Use of the Services is also governed by the Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must stop using the Services.
2. Eligibility
You must comply with all applicable laws and the terms, policies, and guidelines of Discord while using the Services.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Services is permitted in your jurisdiction.
You must satisfy Discord's minimum age requirements and any additional legal requirements applicable in your jurisdiction.
3. Description of Service
Nuit is a modular Discord bot platform that provides features and functionality through first-party and, where applicable, third-party modules.
Features may be added, modified, suspended, or removed at any time without prior notice.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, infrastructure, or data.
- Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the Services.
- Use the Services to distribute malware, spam, or harmful content.
- Circumvent restrictions, limitations, or security measures implemented by Nuit.
- Use the Services in violation of Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to users who violate these Terms.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you create, submit, or transmit through Discord while using the Services.
By using features that process or store such content, you grant Nuit the limited permission necessary to provide the requested functionality.
We do not claim ownership of your content.
6. Third-Party Services
The Services may rely on third-party providers, including but not limited to Discord, hosting providers, databases, and external APIs.
We are not responsible for the availability, functionality, security, or policies of third-party services.
7. Third-Party Modules
Nuit may support modules, extensions, integrations, or other software developed by third parties.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, third-party modules are not endorsed, maintained, or guaranteed by Nuit, and the registry under Nuit-Bot/Registry is the only official third-party module registry.
Users install and use third-party modules at their own risk.
We are not responsible for the behavior, functionality, security, or data handling practices of third-party modules.
8. Experimental Features
Certain features may be designated as alpha, beta, preview, experimental, or otherwise unfinished.
Such features may be unstable, incomplete, contain bugs, or be subject to breaking changes without prior notice.
Use of experimental features is entirely at the user's own risk.
9. Availability
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee:
- Continuous availability.
- Uninterrupted operation.
- Error-free functionality.
- Compatibility with all environments or configurations.
- Availability of any specific feature.
Service interruptions may occur due to maintenance, infrastructure limitations, provider outages, software defects, security incidents, or other factors.
10. Data Integrity
While we strive to provide reliable functionality, we do not guarantee the preservation, availability, accuracy, or recoverability of any data.
Users are responsible for maintaining backups of any information they consider important.
11. Dependency on Discord
The Services depend on Discord and its APIs.
Changes made by Discord may affect the functionality, availability, or compatibility of the Services without prior notice.
We are not responsible for disruptions caused by Discord or other third-party providers.
12. Self-Hosted Deployments
Nuit may be self-hosted.
Users who self-host Nuit are solely responsible for:
- Their infrastructure.
- Their configuration.
- Their data.
- Their security practices.
- Compliance with applicable laws and platform requirements.
We are not responsible for issues arising from self-hosted deployments.
13. Open Source Components
Certain portions of Nuit may be distributed under open-source licenses.
Use of such components remains subject to their respective licenses in addition to these Terms.
In the event of a conflict between an applicable open-source license and these Terms, the open-source license shall govern with respect to the licensed component.
14. Contributors
Nuit is an open-source project that may receive contributions from volunteers.
Contributors provide code, documentation, and other materials on a voluntary basis.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, contributors shall not be individually liable for issues arising from the use of the Services.
15. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy, reliability, and non-infringement.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nuit, its operators, and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use of the Services.
This limitation applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
17. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Services at any time if we reasonably believe a user has violated these Terms or is creating risk to the Services, users, infrastructure, or third parties.
Users may stop using the Services at any time.
Termination of access does not limit any rights or remedies available under applicable law.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When changes are made, we may announce them through official Nuit communication channels, including the official Discord server. However, users are responsible for periodically reviewing the current version of these Terms.
Continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
The official Nuit Discord server is available at: https://discord.gg/C8qCEuRuJG
19. Contact
Questions regarding these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or other legal and policy-related matters may be directed through the Discussions section of the Nuit-Bot/Docs repository.
Questions regarding the Services, support requests, bug reports, feature requests, or general usage may be directed through the official Nuit Discord server.
We may not be able to respond to every inquiry, but we will make reasonable efforts to review legitimate questions and concerns.
20. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws applicable in the jurisdiction of the service operator, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
